Hi everyone, this is my last post for this year. I have has so much fun in this class and I've learned so much. I came into this class not knowing how to take a good photo, let alone what a good photo looks like. I now know how to create a good composition in my photos, edit my photos ( I learned photoshop!), create a website and use photography techniques to take better photos. Taking this class has greatly expanded my love for photography. Even after I leave this class, I'm going to continue to take photos and have a blog.
One of my favourite projects was about our career choices. I really liked doing that because I got to think about my future in a realistic way. What are my interests? What don't I enjoy? Could I see myself doing this job? What do I want to write on my arm to photograph? Taking the photo was fun as well -deciding how to pose, where to look, the lighting etc. I still have an interest in criminal psychology, but I'd really like to pursue photojournalism now. Funny how fast things change.

Another one of my favourite projects I did was the No More campaign. The campaign focuses on ending sexual assault and domestic violence. It's a huge problem that never goes away because no one takes the time to fix it. When sexual assault and domestic violence occurs, it's always dismissed by people saying "Oh, he was such a nice guy" or "It's not my problem." It is, in fact, our problem, something that needs to fixed, because abuse is never okay, and the victim should never be blamed. So many women and men are being abused every day both physically and verbally and it needs to be stopped. I loved this project because all the excuses people make for victims and situations of domestic violence and sexual abuse were brought to light. We need to say "No more."

My absolute favourite project was creating my blog, Stories from Blair. For my personal project (for IB) I created this blog documenting people's stories from Blair. Mr. Solis was my advisor and let me take class time to work on it. I interviewed people and took a picture of them as well, both of which I posted to a blog. (http://anjaliroos.wix.com/storiesfrombhs). I loved it so much. I got to work on my photography skills as well as meet amazing people from Blair. The project was also a way to practise photojournalism, a career path I'm seriously considering. Below are three photos featured on my blog.

I loved being in this class and would definitely recommend it to others students. Mr. Solis is a great teacher. He's very helpful and kind and his class instructions were very good. He was a big help to me when I was doing my IB personal project. It's all around an fun, easy class, but it definitely got challenging when I got a little behind in projects (because of track and field meets). I'll miss this class next year.
